Perthshire Woodcrafters was setup by some of our original members who noticed a gap in the local area after travelling outwith the area back in April 2013 for like minded individuals who enjoy their love of many different woodcrafts.
We have male and female members from all over Perthshire some who are wood turners, carvers,toy & stick makers, bandsaw and scrollsaw who enjoy meeting once a month (1st Saturday) to talk about wood at Forgandenny Village Hall. Each month we try to focus on a different area of woodcraft. We also look at the serious side of woodcraft such as turning spalted woods, machine maintenance and working with undoubtedly very dangerous machinery.
If you are a wood crafter or have an interest in any wood craft then you are more than welcome to come and visit the club. No experience is necessary, we have a chosen topic each month as well as guest demonstrators home grown demonstrators and some days we get all our lathes out and just see what happens. We also attend the local agricultural show and have a few outings a year such as, visiting other clubs, or just going for a day out.
It is a friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome.
The more the merrier and there will always be enough cake to go around during the tea break.
